Kevin Love: The Panic Attack

On November 5, 2017, Kevin Love experienced a severe panic attack. In this tragic moment, Love thought he was going to die.

“It was terrifying”, Love said. “It was like I was having a heart attack. I really felt I was going to die at that moment. I just wanted some air, so I basically ended up unconscious on the floor.”

This event happened during the second half of a game with the Atlanta Hawks. He was passed out in the locker room.

During this past year, Love has spoken a lot about the importance of mental health, alongside San Antonio guard Demar DeRozan. He has spoken about his experiences, and how the topic is viewed.

““I just kind of brushed it off because in our sport, or in life, and being a man, you’re taught to suppress it, you’re taught to in a lot of ways suffer in silence,” Love said.
